Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre Application

Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre. The centre is one for Persons with Physical Disabilities. The centre is a specialised rehabilitation centre which accepts appropriate referrals from all levels of health services (i.e. tertiary, secondary, district and primary level health services). Clients can also refer themselves to the WCRC Out-patient clinic for one-stop assessment and management purposes.

Services
The WCRC provides specialised, high-intensity rehabilitation and community-reintegration programmes for persons with physical disabilities. The focus is outcome-based and the promotion of functional independence. The facility has a maximum capacity of 240 beds, and a daily OPD clinic.

PROGRAMMES OFFERED BY THE CENTRE

Rehabilitation programmes focus on reducing activity limitations and participation restrictions for persons with (amongst others):

• Stroke/ Head Injury
• Spinal Cord afflictions
• Amputations (post amputation rehabilitation)

The WCRC also offers a variety of other services such as:

• Home and/or work site assessments
