Benefits of coconut. The coconut fruit has become a global fruit in recent years. Thanks to advanced technology in the Agricultural industry, we now have a countless variety of coconuts all over the world. No matter which type you enjoy, coconuts are eaten in various forms. Coconuts have been linked to a good heart health. According some research dwellers at the Polynesian Islands who are almost always eating coconut have very good heart heart than their counterpart who eat lots of Western foods.
The controversial part of this is that, there are typical natives of the island who also feed more on a lot of fish. Because of this, it is not obvious if their good health is due the consumption of coconut. This is still under some research works.
In some further studies done with as many as 1,837 women who were all from the Philippines, it was discovered that, people who regularly consumed coconuts did not have good cholesterol only, they also had some worrisome levels of what is known as LDL or bad cholesterol. But all in all, this study ended up positing that the oil found in coconut has some neutral effect on all fats.
It has also been proven by some investigations that the oil that is gotten out of the meat of coconut without heat, known as virgin oil could help to reduce the fat deposits in and around the stomach.
In yet another work done with only 20 participants who had crossed the 30th body mass index and were obese, it was noted that after eating just 30 ml of fresh virgin oil from coconut continuously for four weeks, there was a drastic reduction in the size of their waist for up to 3 cm. This was for men, however the females in the study did not experience any such change.
This is also debatable since in another study women who had regularly taken 30 ml of the same virgin oil for 12 continuous weeks had a decrease of 1.4 cm in their waist size.
