TO QUALIFY FOR ADMISSION YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING

All those hoping to study with the at the Bethesda Hospital Nursing School should go through the Bethesda Hospital Nursing School Application process. All applicants should have the required minimum qualifications as is stipulated. These could be from the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or its equivalent school leaving certificate or the higher certificate or diploma.

The provisional admissions will depend on the levels/symbols gotten at the Grade 12 June/September examinations or confirmation that study leave is being processed by your current employer. But the final decision for studying at Bethesda Hospital Nursing School will be based on final Grade 12 results, confirmation that the applicant has been granted study leave by the employer and has not reached the pensionable age (55-60) applicable to all college programmes;

For example, to register for a Basic Diploma you need an APS of at least 18 with an NSC/equivalent pass of Biology/Life Science at Level 4 or D Symbol and English at Level 3 or E Symbol Aggregate:

Note: Applicants have to meet the requirements for admission into the Diploma as he/she is above 18 points

Please note that the college can only take in a certain number of applicants at a time, this will also depend on the accredited capacity of the South African Nursing Council. The fact that you have met the minimum requirements does not mean automatic admission to a programme. All applicants will have to go through some testing and further interviews.

Candidates who have health-related post-metric experience/certificate will be registered as per the identified quota for that group as specified below:

Scholars: 50%

Candidates with Pre-NSC Grade 12 certificate: 20%

Candidates with health-related post-metric experience/certificate: 10%

Serving Officers: 20%

Please note that admission requirements are subject to change and the college:

Will invest heavily in nurses for ECDoH facilities;

Will not invest in candidates that have attempted other avenues for example dropped out of universities/technikons/colleges and;

Will not invest in candidates that are in possession of other qualifications. If this is found at any stage during the process, the affected candidate will be disqualified/dismissed.

HOW TO APPLY FOR ADMISSION

All those applying who are now in Grade 12 are expected to bring copies of their Grade 11 final results, each copy should bare the stamp of the school.
And then you are expected to fill in the application online.

The moment you are done with your application online, it will be assessed and then you shall get a Student Number also called the Reference Number.

Those applying who are sitting for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) through IEB or SACAI examining bodies can also go through the application process. If you one of such, you are to select “National Senior Certificate” under the Results Detail page of the online application process.

If you have finished the GED and also want to take an undergraduate programme, it is suggested that you register and get a grade 12 NSC/IEB/SACAI or its international equivalent. If you not finish the SC/NSC/IEB, you should be in possession of the USAF accreditation from the examination board for South African Universities.
