Morning sickness. Throwing up early in the morning during pregnancy is what is known as morning sickness. This is due to a feeling of nausea. It is a very common thing in pregnancies. Even though it is known as a morning sickness, it can happen during any time of the day. It is not a pleasant feeling, your day to day activities can be affected by this occurrence.
Imagine throwing up in the middle of a meeting!
The good thing is that as you clock 12 weeks to 16 weeks, it turns to reduce or stop all together.
The effect of it is that, sometimes, it can become so intense that it can make you dehydrated.
To reduce it, try the following:
- Try to rest, whenever you are tired, nausea gets worse.
- If there are any foods whose smell make you nauseous, avoid them.
- Before you step out of you bed, get some plain biscuit or something dry.
- This is the time to try out some more meals that are low in fat (such as bread, rice, crackers and pasta)
- Sip more often instead of pouring large volumes of liquids down your throat.
- Diets that have ginger are better off in times like this, they turn to reduce nausea.
These are a few tricks that could help out.
WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS?
Some have opined that if you are feeling very nauseous, it could mean:
- You are carrying a set of twins.
- You might be going through some stress.
- This kind of feeling is actaully in your family.
- You most probably experienced same in your previous pregnancy if this is not your first time.
